Portugal legend tips Cristiano Ronaldo for PSG switch

Paris Saint-Germain legend Pauleta believes it is quite possible that the French side will sign Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

beIN SportSpeaking to , the former Portugal striker claimed PSG have the will and the means to prise his compatriot away from Santiago Bernabeu.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked with a transfer this summer, with a number of reports suggesting he is ready to end his time with Real Madrid.

Manchester United have also been credited with an interest in bringing the 28-year-old back to Old Trafford.

Pauleta believes a move to PSG would be good for Ronaldo, as the club are showing serious ambition with their actions in the transfer market.

The Qatari-backed club have made numerous big-money signings over the last two years; the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Thiago Silva, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Lucas Moura top the bill.

“I think Cristiano Ronaldo joining PSG is possible," Pauleta is quoted as saying in the interview by

"The people in charge at PSG are very competent. They are able to buy a player if they think it's necessary.

“Cristiano Ronaldo is a spectacular player and I hope that Paris can recruit more players like him and [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic in the future.”

Pauleta played was a PSG player for five years and was a popular figure among fans and he is hoping Ronaldo can be the next Portugal star at Parc des Princes.

“I would love to see another Portuguese player at PSG. It would be huge for the Portuguese community in Paris,” he added.

Pauleta is Portugal’s record goalscorer with 47 strikes, but Ronaldo looks set to eclipse that total as he has already scored 38 times.
