Manchester United and Manchester City are heading for a transfer showdown over Swiss starlet Dimitri Mfomo.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, both Old Trafford and Etihad Stadium scouts have been impressed with the 15-year-old midfielder.

Manchetser United and Manchester City are not the only two major European clubs after the FC Zurich youngster, however, as Serie A sides Udinese and Juventus are both credited with an interest.

Mfomo is obviously very highly rated and it would be something of transfer coup for Manchester United or Manchester City to lure him away from their rivals.

It is likely going to cost either side a significant amount for a player of Mfomo’s age, as the report claims Udinese have already had €600,000 bid knocked back.

It also claims FC Zurich are holding out for some closer to €1million and the reported interest could lead to a bidding war, which may mean the Swiss club get closer to their desired asking price.
