Robert Lewandowski remains keen on a move to Manchester United, but the Borussia Dortmund star will wait and see what Sir Alex Ferguson does with Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez this summer, according to the Daily Telegraph.
The report claims Lewandowski has told his agent he prefers a move to the Premier League, although Bayern Munich remain an option.
Manchester United is his favourite destination, ahead of Arsenal and Chelsea, after the Old Trafford club had a bid rejected for the Polish forward last summer.
A stumbling block remains the lack of space in the United squad for another striker, and the report claims Lewandowski will delay his decision until the future of Rooney and Hernandez is resolved.
United admit a move for Lewandowski could only happen if space is made in the squad for another forward, and Rooney and Hernandez have both been linked with moves away from Old Trafford this summer.
Rooney reportedly wants a definitive answer as to whether he's getting a new contract at the end of the season, while Hernandez, despite his impressive goalscoring record, has been left frustrated by a lack of regular first-team football.
The Mexican international remains a go-to option off the bench for United, but such is the competition for places up front Wayne Rooney has moved back into midfield on occasion recently.
Danny Welbeck is another competing for first-team action so Ferguson has plenty of choices in attacking areas.
As a result, Lewandowski will delay his decision until United sort out their transfer priorities for the summer. Besides, the Polish international will not discuss a move until his club's Champions League campaign is over - Dortmund face Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final this week.
The Poland striker is out of contract at the end of next season, and the report claims Dortmund would prefer not to sell their star forward to another Bundesliga club - which puts United at an advantage compared to Bayern Munich.
