The PFA announced a short-list of players that have been nominated for the Player of the Year and the Young Player of the Year award's for the 2012/13 Premier League season.
There are however some deserving players that didn’t make the cut and we look at some of the obvious players missing from this illustrious list.
Here are the top three:
The Everton full-back has been an ever present in an Everton team that has impressed again with its discipline and work rate.
The England international has an impressive number of goals and assists to his name and has had an impressive key passes per game ratio. He has been the best left-back this season in the Premier League, however he still wasn’t able to force his way into the team.
Michu might consider himself very unlucky not to be on the list. The attacking midfielder has had an impressive 17 goals to his name and also helped his Swansea side to the first major trophy in its history.
His goals account for 40% of his teams total outlay and his goals are all the more impressive when we see that he played in a variety of deferent positions unlike Van Persie who only played as an out an out striker and has only seven more goals then Michu.
Nastasic has been one of the finds of the season - he was an unknown entity when he joined the Premier League from Fiorentina. His rise to the top has been all the more impressive considering that he is still a teenager and has displaced Joleon Lescott from the starting line-up.
The City defender looks set to be a great prospect for the future and should have been selected considering Danny Welbeck is in the team - a player who has scored only one league goal, which is his primary responsibility.
