Manchester United celebrated like true champions by partying until 6am after claiming a historic 20th league title against Aston Villa last night.

A first-half hat-trick from PFA Player of the Year nominee Robin van Persie helped United claim a 3-0 win against Aston Villa which put them out of reach of rivals Manchester City with four games to go.

Manchester United's players wasted no time in celebrating the club's 20th league title - 13 of which have been Premier League crowns won under Sir Alex Ferguson - as they showered each other in champagne in the dressing room afterwards before moving onto a string of bars, where they stayed until the early hours.

Some members of the triumphant team partied into the wee hours before heading back to the Living Room bar where they had celebrated earlier. Others were spotted emerging after 5am.

Ryan Giggs, who claimed his 13th league title - the same amount Arsenal have won in their history - got into a cab and made his way home at around 5.20am, while goalkeeper David de Gea was spotted leaving around ten minutes earlier.

That wasn't the end of the night however and some of the hardier members of the Manchester United squad, including Phil Jones and Chris Smalling, were snapped heading for a casino at 6am.

Rio Ferdinand kept his Facebook fans up to date about how the night was progressing, posting pictures as he celebrated the achievement alongside his team-mates.

Earlier this morning the defender posted on the social network site: "Morning Facebookers! Love waking up as a Premier League Champion! We took the roof off last night!"

Red Devils boss will hope his side have sobered up before they take on the first of their four remaining Premier League fixtures, starting against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

The game marks Van Persie's first time back at his former club since joining Manchester United in the summer.
