AC Milan are being linked with a summer move for Tottenham Hotspur defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto.

The Daily Express claims the Italian giants are ‘casting admiring glances’ at the Cameroonian international, who is valued at £11million by the White Hart Lane outfit.

The paper cites Italian reports when claiming that the Rossoneri are looking to strengthen their defence at the end of the season, with the former Lens star high on their list of targets.

Assou-Ekotto joined Spurs in the summer of 2006, and became a regular once Harry Redknapp took over in north London two years later.

However, injuries and a change in manager have seen the player’s Premier League opportunities limited this term, with Assou-Ekotto making just 11 appearances.

And, the paper reports that Andre Villas-Boas is also on the lookout for a new player in the position, with Lyon’s Samuel Umtiti on the transfer wishlist.

Were the Ligue 1 defender to arrive at Tottenham Hotspur, then Assou-Ekotto’s time with the club could be up.
