Arsenal’s reported new ‘collaborative agreement’ with Real Betis could yet continue with a pair of Gunners stars joining the La Liga club this summer.

A report in the Daily Express claims Emirates Stadium outcasts Marouane Chamakh and Johan Djourou are wanted by Betis in the next transfer window.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been tipped to spend big this summer but he will need to make space in his squad and on the wage bill.

Other than the first few months, Chamakh has been a bitter disappointment since he joined the Gunners on a free transfer from Bordeaux in 2010.

The Morocco international is currently on loan at West Ham United but has rarely featured for them either.

Djourou is currently on loan at Bundesliga side Hannover 96 after Wenger finally ran out of patience with him.

The report claims the Swiss centre-back is a loan target for Betis, while Chamakh would be a permanent transfer.

Arsenal and Betis have already been doing business as young forward Joel Campbell has been on loan there since last summer.
