Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp has hailed his side's incredible 4-1 victory over Real Madrid and has thanked the fans for creating such as brilliant spectacle.
"To turn a negative emotion into such a thing really dwarfs everything. Without the atmosphere a game like this wouldn't have been possible," he beamed post-match.
The BVB boss was quick to quash suggestions his side have done enough to reach the final, but he has reminisced on a night that he says will live long in the memory of all involved.
"We don't have the feeling we are the favourites in the second leg. We played an exceptional game against a fantastic side. Nothing has been decided yet. But there could have been worst results. Even if we get knocked out, you cant take this night away from us." Klopp continued when talking to the official BVB website.
Dortmund fans were aggrieved just before the half as they were denied what could have been a penalty, only for Cristiano Ronaldo to lead a Real Madrid and score at the other end to level the scores at 1-1. Klopp was keen to clear up the other goals from Robert Lewandowski.
"I think it was a penalty. The third goal was so brilliant that no referee would dare to take it back. Offside? I really cant remember. there were so many goals by Lewandowski…"
All eyes are now on the return leg, which will see Jose Mourinho's side chasing a three goal deficit at the Santiago Bernabeu. The Borussians coach has made it clear however that his side will be doing anything but parking the bus when they travel to the Spanish capital.
Speaking after the game he said, "My team don't want to defend a result, they always want to push forward. Today I brought on Kehl and Grosskreutz to shore up the defence- and their first contribution was in the Real Madrid box. that speaks for itself."
