Chelsea predicted line-up v FC Basel

Football News

Chelsea travel to Switzerland tonight, and will face a tough challenge against Basel – who knocked out Tottenham Hotspur in the last round.

Rafa Benitez has named strong teams throughout this competition, and will do the same in the last four as the Blues look to win their only trophy of the season.

Petr Cech has been superb between the sticks once again this season, and will again start in goal for the west London outfit.

Ashley Cole has returned to fitness and is likely to start at left-back, but Gary Cahill will probably miss out despite his own recovery. John Terry has often featured in Europe, and will expect to start again tonight.

In midfield, Ramires and Frank Lampard are likely to anchor the side, although John Obi Mikel is also pushing to be involved. Oscar has also been passed fit to play, but will expect to be on the bench after recovering from a groin injury.

That leaves Victor Moses to make his mark on the right flank, with Juan Mata and Eden Hazard inter-changing the other two positions centrally and on the left.

And, up-front, Fernando Torres is the only option for Chelsea, with Demba Ba unavailable to Rafa Benitez due to previous involvement with Newcastle.

Chelsea predicted line-up v Basel:

Petr Cech; Cesar Azpilicueta, Branislav Ivanovic, John Terry, Ashley Cole; Frank Lampard, Ramires; Victor Moses, Juan Mata, Eden Hazard; Fernando Torres.
