Chelsea have been credited interest with some of the hottest attacking players in Europe and Andre Schurrle is certainly one of them.
The Bayer Leverkusen star has been on the radar of the Stamford Bridge outfit for some time and recent reports have suggested that Chelsea and Leverkusen will have a deal in place for the German international before the end of the week.
Here is a look at the qualities Schurrle can bring to Chelsea.
Chelsea signed a number of talented young players last season, like Eden Hazard and Oscar. The club are also reluctant to use Florent Malouda and this means some of the Blues young talents are playing in the majority of their big games. Andre Schurrle will bring the much needed depth to the squad.
The German is known for his versatility and he can play in all four attacking positions of the 4-2-3-1 system. This means that he will not only provide cover in multiple positions but also provide competition for places in the squad which will spur players on to constantly improve.
His inclusion will also mean that the squad is rotated properly and hence the players are fresh for the challenges ahead.
The German international, apart from providing depth and flexibility, will bring quality to the squad. There might be a fear that Chelsea are in for similar player to what they already have on their books but Schurrle will bring quality with him in terms of pace, passing and goals.
Considering that he is only 22 means he brings with him more youth as the Blues look set for a successful future.
