Barcelona have been dealt a blow with the news that Sergio Busquets and Eric Abidal will miss the Champions League semi-final second leg against Bayern Munich.
Spanish midfielder Busquets has failed to recover the pelvic injury that kept him out of Barcelona’s 2-2 draw over Athletic Bilbao, while French defender Eric Abidal picked up a calf problem on Saturday and will also be out of the game against the German champions.
The Catalan giants currently trail 4-0 after a humiliating defeat in Munich last week.
Barcelona manger Tito Vilanova also confirmed that Javier Mascherano will also miss the leg, failing to recover from the injury he sustained against PSG in the quarter-finals.
He said: "Mascherano will not be able to play tomorrow. He needs six weeks to recover and only four have gone by, so he will not be in the team.
"Sergio Busquets and some others are still suffering from minor injuries. We will see after the training session if Busquets is fit to play.“
Another statement was released on their official website later in the day to confirm that the World Cup winner will be unavailable for selection for Wednesday’s clash after being left out of the match day squad.
Barcelona will go into the tie with serious defensive issues with Carles Puyol also out with injury, while left back Jordi Alba is suspended after picking up a yellow card for throwing the ball at Arjen Robben.
However, Tito Vilanova still had 19 players to call on and with the likes of Lionel Messi, Xavi, Andres Iniesta, Dani Alves, David Villa and Victor Valdes still in the squad.
Barcelona will hope for another magical night to seal the greatest Champions League comeback - and a place in their third Wembley final against Borussia Dortmund.
