The agent of Manchester United target Marco Verratti has played down suggestions he's currently in Spain in talks with Real Madrid over a possible summer move, reports Sky Sports.

Donato di Campli admits that interest is high in the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, who has turned in a number of impressive performances in his debut season with the Ligue 1 leaders, but insisted that there have been no formal offers made for Verratti.

Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson is believed to be monitoring the Italy international's development at Parc des Princes, and has been linked with a £20million bid to bring him to Old Trafford ahead of the 2013/14 campaign.

Recent speculation that Manchester United will face direct competition from Real Madrid for the 20-year-old's signature has been quashed by Verratti's representative, denying that he has held discussions with officials from the Spanish capital, which could pave way for a clear run for the newly crowned Premier League champions to secure his services.

"First of all I would like to deny reports that I am in Spain at the moment," confirmed Di Campli. "There is nothing with Real Madrid, also because whoever wants Marco will have to firstly go and negotiate with PSG.

"Right now there are too many rumours doing the rounds about him. The only thing that matters today is that Marco remains calm and ends his season in France in the best possible manner."

Verratti only arrived at PSG last summer, joining Carlo Ancelotti's side from Serie 'A' minnows Pescara, who are on the verge of relegation back to the Italian second tier.

He has drawn plenty of plaudits for some scintillating displays - both domestically and in Europe - and has been a central figure in the French club's climb towards the Ligue 1 title.
