Manchester City have been invited to take part in a pre-season Audi Cup competition in Germany.

Four teams will compete; Bayern Munich will be the hosts, and they've sent an invite out to Sao Paulo, Manchester City and AC Milan. It's like inviting that temperamental pal to your birthday party whose bound to drink too much and do something outrageous.

Bad boy Balotelli is on the guest list and may well be reunited with his old 'muckers' from Manchester City. It hopefully won't be too awkward as it was known Mario was quite well liked in the Manchester City dressing room before he was sent back to Milan. The reunion between Mario and his father figure manager, Roberto Mancini, should make for interesting viewing though.

According to SkySports the tournament will take place at the Allianz Arena from July 31st to August 1st and the City chief commercial and operating officer Tom Glick said: "We are delighted to have been invited to take part in the Audi Cup and to be competing with some of the best teams in the world.

"This tournament forms a significant part of our pre-season preparations and we are very much looking forward to it."

It's also been understood that out-of-contract Kolo Toure could be on his way to Italy. According to the Express, Kolo could meet up with Mario a lot quicker than the rest of the Manchester side as AC Milan might offer the older Toure brother an escape out of Manchester.

City are also planning a July trip to Asia to compete in the Barclays Asia Trophy alongside Tottenham Hotspur and Sunderland. So it looks to be a busy pre-season for the Blue Moon side trying to regain their Premier League trophy.
