Video: Roma star tries to con referee with ridiculous dive

This dive is so bad, it's an affront to those who have spent quite literally minutes fine-tuning their tumbles in order to make them look convincing. 

Roma stalwart Daniele de Rossi found himself in a minor tangle with Chievo defender Dario Dainelli during a damaging 1-0 defeat for i Giallorossi - but luckily the referee was on hand to diffuse the situation and move things along.

De Rossi had different ideas. Perhaps spurred on by the smallest tap on his foot from Dainelli (or perhaps not, the evidence is inconclusive), the Italian pushed himself off his rival and flung himself to the floor with limbs a'flallin. Let's just say his reaction was a little over the top.

Modern football is full of nonsense sayings like 'anticipating the contact' but this is something else. Surely a ban for De Rossi is on the cards? 

Or perhaps the knowledge that Roma's top-four hopes have been seriously damaged by the defeat is enough...
