Roma playmaker Miralem Pjanic has emerged as a transfer target for three Premier League clubs, according to the Sun.

Pjanic is considered to be one of the finest young talents in Europe, but has struggled to make an impact in Italy since making the move to Roma in 2011.

The Bosnian international has been linked with a move to Tottenham in the past, and could have made the switch to White Hart Lane in January.

However Spurs were reportedly told Pjanic would only be open to a move at the end of the current season.

Speaking in November his agent, Michele Gerbino, said: 'It is difficult to see Miralem moving during the season but we will look at the sums at the end of the season.'

Now it would appear the north London club face some competition for his signature if they are to go back in for the 23-year-old in the summer.

According to the Sun, Arsenal and Manchester City are willing to challenge Spurs for his signature - but may have to fork out around £20 million to secure his services.

Whether Arsenal plan to firm up their interest in Pjanic is uncertain. The Gunners are well stocked in the playmaker role which the talented youngster prefers, and boss Arsene Wenger is expected to focus on strengthening other areas first.

Manchester City have been linked with Pjanic recently, and it was reported that countryman Edin Dzeko had put in a kind word with Citizens boss Roberto Mancini.

However he was keen on to play down rumours of a move to Manchester City or anywhere else last month.

“It is nice to hear that Edin has spoken well of me, but I have a contract here,” the former Lyon man told Mediaset.

“Perhaps one day we’ll get the opportunity to play in the same club side, but, for now, I’m proud to be able to wear this shirt.”
