Ajax manager Frank de Boer has confirmed Borussia Dortmund counterpart Jurgen Klopp has been in touch to gauge the situation of Christian Eriksen, who has also been linked Premier League trio Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham.
Eriksen has established himself as one of the most coveted young talents in Europe since breaking into the Ajax first team, and has frequently been linked with a high-profile transfer away from the Amsterdam Arena.
Anfield, the Etihad Stadium and White Hart Lane have all be touted as potential destinations for the Denmark international while, more recently, Eriksen has been mentioned as a possible replacement at Dortmund for Bayern Munich bound Mario Götze.
Götze will officially joined Bayern on July 1 after the Bundesliga champions activated his release clause, and BVB now appear to have sounded out Eriksen as a potential successor to the highly-rated Germany international.
"I expect that three guys will leave," De Boer told Voetbal International. “To think that [Toby] Alderweireld, Eriksen and [Siem] De Jong will stay is unrealistic.
"Jurgen Klopp called me this week to congratulate me with the championship. He also asked me how Christian Eriksen is doing. He is a fan."
Eriksen, 21, has previously stated that the Bundesliga or Premier League would suit his style of play, although the Dane has also expressed a desire to sign a new contract with Ajax should there be no concrete interest in his signature this summer.
