Carlos Tevez slips on Wembley steps

Carlos Tevez's first to Wembley for a final with Manchester City went swimmingly, as the Argentine striker ascended the famous steps to lift the FA Cup trophy as the proud skipper of the Etihad Stadium club.

His second, however, ended in far more ignominious circumstances as City succumbed to a last minute defeat at the hands of underdogs Wigan, leaving last year's Premier League champions empty-handed at the end of a gruelling season.

As if defeat to the unfancied Latics was not hard enough to stomach for Tevez and his Manchester City chums, the 29-year-old faced further misery during an unfortunate encounter with a slippery step after receiving his runners-up medal.

Ambling down the stairs with his head bowed in despair, Tevez lost his footing on the sodden surface to further compound a day of sombre reflection for Manchester City.

Even more unfortunate for Tevez is that the incident was captured by an eagle-eyed fan on their mobile phone - as was a similar incident involving the linesman only a minute or so before.
