Napoli chief Aurelio De Laurentiis has denied suggestions he flew to England for talks with interim Chelsea manager Rafa Benitez about taking over at Stadio San Paolo, reports Sky Sports.

The Italian film producer arrived in London on Monday with the Serie 'A' club's sporting director Riccardo Bigon and administrator Andrea Chiavelli, amid speculation they were lining up a replacement for current head coach Walter Mazzarri, who is expected to leave Naples this summer.

However, De Laurentiis has distanced Napoli from an approach for Chelsea tactician Benitez, whose short-term spell at Stamford Bridge will shortly come to an end, suggesting that the short trip is in regards to other business.

"I did not go to London for Benitez, you would have me take 15 coaches: it's true, I heard about them all in the last six months," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Yesterday [Monday] I was in London with Chiavelli and Bigon and for a simple reason: I have to prepare for the release of the film on Steve Jobs."

Benitez has already admitted he would be attracted by the prospect of taking charge of Napoli next season, after a successful stint in west London where guided Chelsea to the Europa League trophy and also ensured their return to the Champions League in 2012/13.
