On his 499th and final Premier League appearance for Manchester United on Sunday, Paul Scholes was issued with a yellow card for the 97th time in his illustrious career.

The 38-year-old's mistimed challenge on West Brom defender Billy Jones in the 5-5 draw at The Hawthorns made him the third most booked player in Premier League history.

Widely regarded as one of England's greatest ever midfielders amongst his peers, the one floor in Scholes's near perfect game, is his ability to tackle.

With no shortage of people queuing up to praise or eulogise about the Old Trafford veteran, GiveMeFootball brings you a rundown of some other repeat offenders of reckless challenges with the top 10 most booked players in the Premier League era.

Click through the tabs - above or below - and leave a tribute to Paul Scholes in the comment box provided.
