In his time at Highbury and Emirates Stadium, Ljungberg was known for his darting runs behind the defence from wide areas and his deadly finishing – usually after being played in by a Dennis Bergkamp pass.

Two Premier League titles and three FA Cups were the major honours he collected while at Arsenal, but his he is best remembered as being a major part of the famed ‘Invincibles’ side

The ‘Invincibles’ went the entire 2003/04 Premier League season without losing a single match.

“I’m honoured to take on this ambassadorial role,” he told the official Arsenal website.

“The Club has a special place in my heart as everyone knows and I’m looking forward to helping the Club grow.”
