Second Chelsea defender on Barcelona radar

Barcelona have set their sights on another Chelsea defender this summer, placing the name of Branislav Ivanovic high on their list of transfer targets.

David Luiz has been heavily linked with a switch from Stamford Bridge to Camp Nou this summer.

However, the Brazilian is now not the only Chelsea defender the Catalan club have their eye on, according to the Daily Star.

The report claims there have been noises coming out of Spain about Barcelona putting together a bid for a double swoop of Luiz and Ivanovic.

Barcelona had been keen on PSG central defender Thiago Silva but were put off after being quoted too high a price.

The Spanish champions must see Chelsea’s Europa League final hero as a more affordable option to shore up a troubled back line.

Barcelona are reportedly keen to overhaul their defence this season after long-term fitness concerns hanging over Carles Puyol saw him miss much of the season.

However, this latest report claims Jose Mourinho would not be keen to let both Ivanovic and Luiz leave, though he has been told he must raise some funds through player sales if he wants to make major signings.
