Rafael Benitez is ready to rival Manchester United and Chelsea for the signing of Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini.

According to talkSPORT, the new Napoli manager sees the Belgian as the perfect addition to his squad as he looks to build a side that can overhaul Juventus in the Champions League.

Fellaini was heavily tipped with a move to Old Trafford after David Moyes left Everton to become Sir Alex Ferguson’s successor following retirement.

Moyes’ connection with Everton had many believing he would be in poll position to land the 25-year-old midfielder for Manchester United.

Chelsea have long been linked with an approach for Fellaini, though it is unclear as to whether newly-announced manager Jose Mourinho would continue that interest.

However, this report claims the Blues and Red Devils may be beaten to the Fellaini signing by Napoli, especially if they cash in on star striker Edinson Cavani.

Fellaini has publicly said he intends to stay with Everton but the continued mystery over who their next manager will be could cause him to become unsettled.
