Zlatan Ibrahimovic left embarrassed after open-goal gaffe

Zlatan Ibrahimovic fell flat on his backside after taking his frustration out on the crossbar following Ola Toivonen's open-goal miss in Sweden's 1-0 win over Macedonia on Monday night.

The Paris Saint-Germain striker was left red-faced after hurtling towards the six-yard box - presumably in the hope of being set up for an easy tap-in finish - only to be denied by the greed of Toivonen, who rounded the goalkeeper before hitting his shot high and wide of the goal.

Although slightly off-balance, the PSV Eindhoven forward's inability to pick out Ibrahimovic prompted an angry reaction from his team-mate, who proceeded to jump up and smack the crossbar with both hands, before rebounding off the woodwork to completely wipe himself out.

Thankfully it was only a friendly, and with just a matter of minutes left on the clock, the missed opportunity counted for nothing, as Sweden eased their way to victory courtesy of Alexander Kacaniklic's first-half effort.
