Arsenal are being linked with a summer move for Bayern Munich star David Alaba. cite reports in Germany when claiming that the Gunners have put the Austrian international on their transfer radar, with Arsene Wenger hoping to lure the 20-year-old to the Emirates Stadium from the Allianz Arena.

The report goes on to claim that Arsenal will offer the Alaba the chance to play in his favoured position – central midfield – rather than at left-back, where he has predominantly played for Bayern.

Alaba was a regular under Jupp Heynckes last term, helping the Bavarian giants to an unprecedented Bundesliga, Champions League and German Cup treble.

However, his contract is up in the summer of 2015, and the report claims the Gunners have made contact with Alaba’s management in an effort to speed-up a move.

Pep Guardiola is set to take over at Bayern this summer, and it’s unclear how the former Barcelona chief would want to use the 24-cap international. If Arsenal get their way, we may never find out.
