The most glamorous position on the pitch commands the biggest transfer fees, and prompts the most fervent transfer speculation.

Strikers get all the glory, and this rundown of the top 10 most in-demand forwards in the game pays them that extra special attention they so require. Think of it as a proverbial arm round the shoulder.

After all, we always hear how forwards are the ultimate "confidence players." Well here you go, here's a massive ego boost for you because there's nothing quite like feeling wanted.

From Cristiano Ronaldo to Edinson Cavani via Stevan Jovetic, this countdown considers the likelihood of each transfer, the approximate value of each player, and their goal tally for last season.

Your club will no doubt feature somewhere down the countdown, so feel free to comment in the box below as to who you want your team to sign this summer.

Obviously some of the rumours are crazier than others, but there's no doubt the strikers in question are in-demand.

And some of the deals rely on others getting done first. You'll notice plenty of Napoli interest, but of course that's almost certainly contingent on a Cavani transfer.

Likewise Liverpool's pursuit of another top striker will likely only materialise if Luis Suarez moves on. Because money matters, these boys don't come cheap after all.
