British & Irish Lions Quiz

Football News

It's perhaps one of the most hotly anticipated events in the sporting calendar and its almost here again - its time for the British and Irish Lions to go Down Under.

The Lions have been taking on the very best that the Southern Hemisphere have to offer for over 100 years now, and this summer they go up against Australia hoping to bag their first series win since they defeated the Wallabies in 1997.

Led by the indomitable Sam Warburton, the Lions have three games to earn themselves a spot in the history books, and had their hearts broken by South Africa in 2009 they'll certainly be hoping to make amends.

Warren Gatland has led his men to two tour victories so far with a hard game against the Queensland Reds to come on Saturday - but all that is just a warm-up for the main event, the first test, which gets underway on June 22.

To get you in the spirit of things we're proud to bring you a quiz to test your knowledge on all things Lions-related.

Do you know your Willie John McBride's from your J.P.R. William's? And can you distinguish your truck-and-trailer's from your bog-standard mauls?

If you reckon your up to the task then take our quiz - and get yourself in the mood for one of the last great traditions in the sporting world.
