Sudan keeper drops ball into his own net

Some own goals are just unlucky, but others are just plain terrible – and this is certainly the latter.

Sudan keeper Abdel Rahman Ali Ibrahim was under no pressure when a floated Sulley Muntari corner kick drifted into his six-yard box.

But, completely uncontested, the Sudan stopper palmed the ball into his own goal. The match was 2-1 to Ghana at the time after Mudather El Tahir had scored for Sudan sandwiched between to Asamoah Gyan strikes, and it was heading into the final ten minutes.

So Ali Ibrahim's error wasn't just awful, it was costly as well. Muntari was credited with the goal, giving the 10-man Black Stars a 3-1 victory in the World Cup qualification match.
