Arsenal target can be a Premier League star

Czech Republic striker Matej Vydra hit the Championship by storm last season, scoring 24 goals in 51 appearances.

The 21-year-old Watford star has been a consistent presence in their line-up and delivered the goals in time as well.

The Hornets missed the Premier League as they were beaten in the play-offs by Crystal Palace. His team is set to miss out the Premier League’s healthy competition, but the young striker has a number of admirers in the big league.

Vydra had a few offers from Premier League in January and the interest is expected to increase in the summer. His agent has revealed that the player is looking forward to a club in the Premier League and the interested parties include Arsenal, Fulham and Tottenham.

The striker is an Udinese player, as he was loaned out to Watford in their pursuit of Premier League status. He is considered as a revelation in Czech Republic and will be looking to build on from the start he gained at Watford. So far he has seven international caps and two goals under his belt.

Vydra grabbed the Championship Player of the Season award in his first season in English football. The player himself won’t be satisfied with a Championship role next season, as he eyes a move to Premier League.

Vydra had played a crucial role in the play-off semi-finals against Leicester City - this was noticed by the watchful eyes from a number of clubs in Premier League. That performance has increased his chances of securing a move to the highest level.

Between his goalscoring exploits, the diminutive striker had gone through a barren spell of 13 games. But still his overall contributions kept his place in the team.

If a striker is capable of holding down a regular spot without scoring goals, that means he is a complete package who can deliver beyond goals. That is the reason why a number of top clubs are chasing the player’s signature.

The pacy striker is known for his concentration and possesses a flair game. His positioning is well rounded and he had shown great composure to take the right decision even at the tightest of spots. He is fairly unselfish for a striker and finds joy in setting up others.

Vydra’s versatility allows him to occupy multiple positions upfront and he can be a handy addition to any side.

With age on his side, the youngster can develop into an even better footballer. If Vydra can fulfil the hype surrounding him, Premier League fans will get to witness a good striker in the coming years.
