Will AS Roma become a force of Serie A?

A.S Roma, once an Italian colossus who challenged the elitists in Milan and Turin, leaves the fans in anguish at just how far their beloved club has fallen.

The loyalty of iconic captain Francesco Totti and Daniele De Rossi haven't eliminated the pain and turmoil that has rocked the foundations of the club. The Coppa Italia final defeat at the hands of Lazio will only have worsened that reality.

Managerial stability has been problematic in the Italian capital in recent years with Vincenzo Montella, Luis Enrique and Zdenek Zeman filling the posts since 2010.

Roma's brand of football has been heralded in the attacking phase of the game , but under Zeman their neglect of the defensive side of the ball cost them.

With constant transfer speculation linking a portion of the squads star players in Marquinhos, De Rossi and Erik Lamela with a move away, it brings a sensation of nervousness to the fan base.

The hierarchy at the club need to unite in making a decision in regards to who the next manager will be. A philosophy that balances the team needs to be installed if they are to find any lead way in the race for a European place next season.

Hard times have been bestowed upon the club in the last few years but with a talented squad in place with players possessing flair in Erik Lamela and Miralem Pjanic the exciting potential is in place.

This summer could have telling signs for what the next Serie A season holds for A.S Roma.
