MLB round-up: Boston need 14 innings to beat Rays


The Boston Red Sox and Chicago White Sox both scored ten to win in the latest round of Major League Baseball fixtures.

The Red Sox needed to go to a 14th innings in order to beat the Tampa Bay Rays 10-8 while the White Sox were 10-6 victors over the Toronto Blue Jays.

Elsewhere, the San Diego Padres survived a scare from the Atlanta Braves who scored four in the last innings but still went down 7-6.

The Arizona Diamondbacks also scored four in the last innings but this helped them come from behind to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-4.

In other games, the Baltimore Orioles, Kansas City Royals and Seattle Mariners were all winners by one score as they beat the Los Angeles Angels, Detroit Tigers and the Houston Astros respectively.

The remaining games saw the Texas Rangers, Cincinnati Reds and Milwaukee Brewers all score six as they ran out comfortable winners.
