Premier League heavyweights, Manchester City have announced the signing of Jesus Navas from Spanish side Sevilla, on a four-year contract.
The move worth £14.9m, confirmed the transfer rumours are true, as the Sevilla winger has now officially joined City, after passing a medical in New York where he is currently on international playing duties with Spain.
It is understood Navas will join his teammates at the Etihad, after the Confederations Cup in Brazil, and a short holiday.
When interviewed by City's official site, he stated: "Manchester City is an exciting project, and this is the right moment for me to take this step. I am very happy with this opportunity and the decision.
"The Premier League is a competition where the football is very fast and will suit the way I play.
"Im really looking forward to it. City have been successful in recent years and are continuing to make a great team and I'm honoured to be a part of it. I'm going to a great team in England and I want to continue developing my game there."
The transfer of Navas is the Manchester side's second signing so far in the transfer window, and puts City's total spent in the transfer window at around £45 million, after the signing last week of Brazilian ace Fernandinho from Ukrainian side, Shakhtar Donetsk.
Navas was to this point, a one club man after having the spent the last 10 years of his playing career playing for Spanish side Sevilla. He made 393 appearances for the team, scoring 34 goals for them.
During that time, he won trophies including the UEFA Cup which he won twice with the team, the Super Cup and two Copa del Reys. He has also earned 23 caps while playing for his national team Spain.
Time will tell if Manchester City's two latest signing will have a positive impact on the team, as they will hope to better their second place Premier League finish in the 2012/13 season.
