Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur will hope Real Madrid can complete the signing of Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, as it is the only way they will land Gonzalo Higuain.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, prospective new Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti wants Luis Suarez at the Santiago Bernabeu and that this would be key for allowing Higuain to move.
The report in Italy is centred on Juventus’ interest in the Argentina international, though both Arsenal and Tottenham have been linked with moves for him.
The Gunners are reportedly much closer to capturing Higuain than their rivals at White Hart Lane after it was claimed manager Arsene Wenger had held talks with the player’s father – who is also his agent.
However, Gazzetta claim Ancelotti’s proposed move from Ligue 1 side PSG to Real Madrid will have to be finalised first, as well as a deal to sign Liverpool’s Suarez.
It claims the former Chelsea manager is a big admirer of the Uruguayan and has told Real Madrid president Florentino Perez he wants Suarez at los Blancos next season.
Suarez has said again in an interview that he wants to leave the Premier League over perceived persecution by the British press.
