A Romanian 4th division clash between Chisoda and Sannicolaul Mare was briefly suspended after riot police carried out an armed search for a suspected criminal.

Unbelievable video footage - shot on a mobile phone by a fan in the stand - shows players from both teams dotted around the football pitch, lying on the ground with their hands on their heads, as members of the police force made identity checks on each individual.

The man they were looking for was Chisoda's Sorin Udrea, who wasn't playing on the day, but turned out to be keeping a low profile as a watching spectator.

It wasn't long before his cover was blown, though, and Udrea was swiftly taken into police custody, arrested on multiple counts of extortion, robbery and smuggling.

Watch a crazy clip of the Romanian 4th division clash being suspended by riot police in the video below - with thanks to for bringing it to our attention - and feel free to share your weirdest football incidents in the comment box provided!
