Chael Sonnen has blasted Antonio Rogerio Nogueira as 'Little chicken belly Nog.'
Sonnen's comments have come after Nogueira pulled out of their fight three weeks before they were set to clash.
Sonnen will now face Shogun Rua as the UFC middleweight turned light-heavyweight faces the Brazilian in the headline fight at UFC on FOX Sports 1:1 in Boston on August 17.
But the 36-year old was far from impressed with Nogueira's actions believing that it wasn't the first time he's done it.
"Little Chicken Belly Nog pulled the same scumbag move that he does every time, lets the UFC put out posters, commercials, doing everything to promote him, knowing full well he's not going to do the fight," he told the Telegraph.
"Once again he calls in sick, three weeks early. In no industry on earth can you do that. Nobody can call their boss and say 'Hey, boss, 20 days from now, I'm not going to feel good'. So he calls in sick three weeks early… it was a ruse from the beginning, and basically, I just wanted to help out."
Sonnen has decided to continue fighting in the light-heavyweight division as he's able to compete with a vast array of fighters. He states that he didn't want to be a middleweight and is happy to remain at light-heavyweight.
"It makes sense for me to stay at light-heavyweight. I never wanted to be a middleweight. My contract was at middleweight, but even when I was at College I was 197 lbs. There's very few of us that have to lose weight as athletes later in life to compete."
He added: "When I was at High School, I finished my last match, aged 17 at 185 lbs. Eighteen years later I'm at the exact same weight class – which is hard to do."
Sonnen has also branded NBA star LeBron James as a 'dork.' The Miami Heat forward is the reigning MVP in the NBA but Sonnen didn't hold back whilst on 'The Jim Rome Show.'
"I think LeBron's a dork. He won one world championship, and that was in the Olympic Games. It's so aggravating to hear a title be called a 'world champion' when it's only done in America. It's not a global event where the whole world can participate. You didn't win a world title. You won a national title."
