It has emerged that Liverpool are set to sign Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet for a fee believed to be around £8-10m.
The Anfield club have offered £8m for the player, but Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio is unlikely to part with Mignolet for under £10m.
The move will come after a highly successful third season in the Premier League for the 24-year-old. Mignolet has played 101 times for Sunderland since his £2m move from St Truiden in June 2010.
Liverpool's current goalkeeper, Pepe Reina, has been linked with Spanish giants Barcelona in the last few months, and that move wouldn't come as a surprise to many, especially as Barcelona's own goalkeeper, Victor Valdes, has said he'd like to leave.
Mignolet will join a team which Brendan Rodgers will hope will finish in a Champions League position - a goal Liverpool have failed in in the last four seasons.
Rodgers has already signed experienced defender Kolo Toure from Manchester City, in order to strengthen his defence following the retirement of long-serving defender Jamie Carragher.
Rodgers is also said to be interested in Mignolet's compatriot Toby Alderweireld from Ajax, but the player's father revealed that he is more likely to join Bayer Leverkusen.
