Tottenham are weighing up a surprise move for Napoli defender Federico Fernandez, according to reports. The 24-year-old spent last season on loan at Getafe, and Spurs are lining up an £8m bid as they look to replace the departed William Gallas.

Arsenal look set to miss out on Fiorentina striker Stevan Jovetic because of the Montenegrin's wage demands. Jovetic reportedly wants £120,000-a-week but the Gunners are reluctant to break their pay structure to secure the 23-year-old.
