Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been given encouragement by the latest comments from one transfer target.

Both Arsene Wenger and Andre Villas-Boas have been credited with an interest in Montpellier playmaker Younes Belhanda.

Now the Emirates Stadium and White Hart Lane outfits have been given a hint by the Morocco international with his latest comments, where he reveals his openness to a Premier League switch.

Belhanda also claimed that Arsenal and Spurs would need to stump up as much as €15million if they want to convince Montpellier to sell.

The 23-year-old says he wants a move to the Premier League but is staying patient.

“Nothing has been decided yet. My club wants €15million (£12.8m) and not many teams can pay that,” he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.

"I have always said that my preference would be England, but if they can't agree a price with my current club then I will not go there."

Arsenal have done business with Montpellier in the past, signing Olivier Giroud from the then Ligue 1 champions last summer.

Giroud and Belhanda struck up a terrific partnership in helping their side to a surprising title win – a feat they could not repeat this year.

Meanwhile, Tottenham may be forced into putting together a contingency plan if Real Madrid get their way and they can land Spurs’ star man Gareth Bale.
