Lorient defender Ecuele Manga is eager to take the next step in his career by plying his trade in English football.
Manga was brought to the French north-west club as a replacement for Laurent Koscielny who moved to Arsenal in 2010.
Manga recently declared he had been close to a move to England before.
The defender told SkySports: "I want to play in England. Wigan were interested in me during the past two recent seasons but I just weren't ready for such a big challenge at that moment.
"My agent speaks to different English clubs so things can move quickly. Everton could be perfect for me and they are a huge club in England.
"I will realise my dream by playing for such a club."
New Everton coach Roberto Martinez is in need of defensive reinforcements to his ageing squad and with John Heitinga linked with a move back home to Ajax, Manga may be the defender to get Martinez off to a flying start at Merseyside.
Martinez's interest in the Gabonese defender is likely to lead to a quick deal as Manga is valued at around £4.5million - a fee that is in line with Everton's transfer budget.
