Boca Juniors star reveals Barcelona ambition

Boca Juniors youngster Tiago Casasola is hopeful that he can seal a move to Barcelona this summer, reports Sky Sports.

The 17-year-old defender has been on the transfer radar of the Spanish champions for some time, ever since they tried to bring him to Camp Nou last year.

Now Tito Vilanova is ready to renew interest in the talented teenager, who has enjoyed an impressive debut campaign in Brazil, following his move from Argentine lower division side Huracan in 2012.

Responding to speculation he is set to sign for Barcelona ahead of the 2013/14 campaign, Casasola confirmed his desire to move to La Liga. 

"I hope that my transfer to Barcelona gets done," he told Patria Quemera. "It would be an incredible step forward for me and my career."

If Casasola did join the Catalan club this transfer window, the likelihood is that he would spend the forthcoming season with Barcelona's B side, in the Spanish Segunda Division, with a view to making the step up to Vilanova's senior squad when the time is right.
