Former Norwich City midfielder Tom Adeyemi has signed a two-year contract with Championship side Birmingham City.
Ex-Birmingham manager Chris Hughton decided that the young midfielder was surplus to requirements at Carrow Road and, following his release, he has joined Lee Clark's Birmingham side.
Adeyemi struggled during his time at Carrow Road, making only 11 first team appearances. Because of this, the young Englishman has spent most of his career on-loan in the football league. He has spent season-long loans at Bradford City, Oldham Athletic and Brentford.
Adeyemi was part of the Brentford side that lost 2-1 to Yeovil Town in the League 1 play-off final, meaning that the Bees's will remain in League 1 next season. But Adeyemi has been given the chance to move up a level with Birmingham, and new manager Lee Clark has revealed his delight at signing the 21-year-old.
Talking to Birmingham's official website, Clark stated: "I worked with him during my time at Norwich when he was a youngster at the club.
"I've followed his progress since and he's done exceptionally well on-loan at a few different clubs and I'm delighted to bring him here."
And Clark feels that Adeyemi is a player that can add goals to a Birmingham side next season, who look set to lose young starlet Nathan Redmond to a Premier League club next season.
"Tom is a terrific young lad who is a powerful and athletic midfield player who can get forward and score goals," added Clark.
