The man who run Argentina ragged earlier this month is attracting a lot of Premier League interest, according to Sky Sports.
Ecuadorian winger Jefferson Montero was one of the lively performers in their brilliant display against Argentina, during the recent World Cup qualifier.
23-year-old winger Montero, was a target of Wigan Athletic back in January. Even though the Lactics bit the dust in the Premier League relegation battle, other takers have emerged now to land the Morelia winger to the Premier League.
His performances against Argentina have increased the appeal to Premier League clubs and it is believed that West Ham United, West Bromwich Albion, Swansea City, and Hull City are chasing the prized signature.
Montero boasts of vital experience in La Liga with Villareal, Levante and Real Betis.
He is currently plying his trade with Mexican club Morelia, and it is rumoured to believe that there is a buy-out clause of £3.5m in his contract.
The release clause will make him more attainable and attractive to the Premier League quartet, who will be ready to meet the demands after seeing his impressive display against Argentina.
Montero’s agent has said that he is ready to move to England, and his experiences in Europe earlier might help him to adapt to the conditions. Ecuador international is a regular for national team and the hopes are high on him. He has scored six goals in 27 appearances for his country and will be expected to provide an outlet for goals.
With age on his side, Montero is expected to develop into an even better footballer. His release clause makes him an attractive option, while his game deserves a Premier League chance.
Questions are plenty about his move. Who will land the prized asset? Will he be able to meet the demands of Premier League?
One thing is sure, with the prize quoted for his signature, it is worth taking the gamble, and he might prove out to be a bargain.
