Jessica Ennis-Hill has been forced to delay her comeback from injury once again after it was confirmed that she will not take part in the European Cup Combined Events Super League in Tallinn, Estonia this weekend as planned.

The 27-year-old Heptathlete hasn't competed since she claimed a historic gold at the Olympics in London last summer, and was originally pencilled in to return to action in Edinburgh earlier this month.

However an Achilles injury meant she was forced to pull out that event, and the same problem also put an end to her hopes of making her next scheduled appearance at the Diamond League event in Oslo a week later.

Ennis-Hill insists her injury is improving and has reassured her fans that she will be ready for the World Championships in Moscow in August, but has admitted defeat in her attempts to make the start-line in Estonia this weekend.

"I have been running and putting some force through the ankle," said Ennis-Hill.

"But [coach] Toni [Minichiello] and I feel that doing a heptathlon is not the best option to fully recover."

"Day by day it is feeling much more free and comfortable.

"This season's focus has to still be the heptathlon in Moscow and there are many other options to compete before then."

As it stands, Ennis-Hill's next scheduled appearance is at the Sainsbury's British Championships which get underway in Birmingham on July 12.

Minichiello added that he doesn't believe Ennis-Hill will head to Russia short of preparation time.

"Jessica does not need to do a heptathlon before Moscow - but it would have been useful," he said

"However, given her ankle is making slow but steady progress and things are looking much better we don't feel it is worth rushing it to compete this weekend in all seven disciplines.

"My job is to get her to Moscow in one piece, and in good shape, and that is my priority."
