British and Irish Lions head coach Warren Gatland has revealed that both Alex Corbisiero and Jamie Roberts are unlikely to feature in Saturday's second Test against Australia.
England loosehead prop Corbisiero and Wales centre Roberts are suffering with respective calf and hamstring injuries, which forced them to miss the 23-21 first Test victory over the Wallabies in Brisbane.
The injuries are expected to take another week to heal meaning that their involvement on Saturday is cast under huge doubt.
Gatland revealed that both players will be assessed properly on Thursday, when the team for the second Test at the Etihad Stadium will be announced.
"At this stage it's a little bit doubtful that they'll be involved," Gatland said to reporters.
"Alex is struggling a little bit and Jamie is probably in the same boat. Both of them should be fine for the third Test," he said.
"We have a recovery day tomorrow when everyone's off. Then we'll look at seeing how they are on Thursday morning.
"The medics have been doing a fantastic job for us and they might be declared fit, but it's doubtful."
Manu Tuilagi returned in Tuesday's 35-0 win over Melbourne Rebelsto boost the Lions' midfield options.
However, with Ireland's Tom Court only seen as short-term cover for Corbisiero, the Lions may have to look to additional reinforcements.
Mako Vunipola and Ryan Grant are the only fit options for the Lions.
