The Ashes is just two weeks away, and for many months numerous leading analysts and former players have predicted an easy win for England - Ian Botham even went as far as predicting a series whitewash.
Despite this, there is certainly a divide, people have cast doubt over whether England will be as dominant as suggested, and England's embarrassing ICC Champions Trophy Final defeat to India has cast more doubt in people's minds.
Australia, at first glance, may look to be in crisis after firing their coach 16 days before the start of the Ashes and exiting the ICC Champions Trophy at the first hurdle - in the group stage.
Also, they don't have the likes of legends Shane Warne and Ricky Ponting at their disposal.
Despite this, they do have some very good players that are very much capable of performing at the highest level, and also some promising youngsters.
Notably they have captain Michael Clarke, and Mitchell Johnson, the latter might not have performed very well in previous Ashes series', but he is capable on his day.
Australia are a good team, and of course have a huge reputation, just because they aren't a team full of world class performers doesn't mean they aren't capable of making things very difficult for England.
In my opinion, England are the stronger team nowadays - captain Alistair Cook, Graeme Swann and James Anderson are all superb players, and those three will be integral in winning the series.
They also (luckily) have Kevin Pietersen back, who put in a dazzling display on his return to Cricket for Surrey against Yorkshire. If KP can perform, England are guaranteed to have a massive chance, when KP performs, so do England.
In addition to the established test players, England have the likes of Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root who are progressing well and may be the ones to watch if they feature in one of the test teams.
The point is, England are easily the favourites for The Ashes - it just isn't written in stone that they will win.
