Nine-time World Champion Victoria Pendleton will take part in next month's National Lottery Anniversary Run - the first event staged in the Olympic stadium since London 2012.
The five-mile run on the 21st July tours the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford before finishing with a 300m sprint to the finish line in the world famous Olympic stadium.
Thousands of runners are set to take part alongside former athletes and celebrities - Sir Chris Hoy will send runners on their way at the start line.
And Pendleton admitted she can't wait to return to the venue that hosted last summer's medal-winning Team GB triumphs.
"I am really excited to join thousands of members of the public to run around the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, past the Velodrome and into the stadium.
"It is going to be amazing to share the experience of crossing the stadium finish line with 15,000 other runners."
Applications closed for the race several months ago, but The Metro is running a competition with the chance to meet Pendleton and then race against her on the day.
The run through the Olympic park is a joint effort between the London Borough of Newham, The National Lottery and the London Legacy Development Corporation.
The National Lottery put up £2.2bn towards the 2012 Games, and the run is an opportunity to relive those halcyon days while also continuing to look forward to Rio 2016 and London's legacy.
The Lottery funds both full-time professionals and grassroot sports, and hopes the mass participation race can bring both together for a fun day.
"The National Lottery Anniversary Run is a fantastic way of celebrating the role of many National Lottery players who contributed to the success of London 2012 and who continue to do so much to back British sport," Pendleton continued.
"The National Lottery's support was essential to my career and the success of the cycling squad."
