The ongoing saga that is the pursuit of an agreement between David Haye and Tyson Fury stepped up a level this week.
Haye tweeted that he had offered Fury a 50-50 split and that it had been turned down.
Fury suggested that an 80-20 split in his favour is more realistic as he sees himself as the best heavyweight in the world.
Such an opinion is typical of the confidence that we have come to expect from Fury and is part of the reason why he is so entertaining.
He believes that he is the best heavyweight that there has ever been and that given time he will prove that.
I personally see such statements as bravado and just a way of Fury getting more media coverage. By getting more attention he is able to make a name for himself and therefore work his way into big fights like this one.
Both Haye and Fury are very charismatic men who capture the attention of not just the boxing community but casual watchers.
Both are very confident and bring a lot of excitement in and out of the ring. They will provide a fascinating combination and will be one of the most hyped-up fights of recent years.
I would love to see this fight take place mainly for the out of ring antics that would take place. They both know how to make an impression and they would be trying to upstage each other at every moment.
Unfortunately Fury would probably look to sing yet again which for me is not enjoyable and at times I actually feel embarrassed for him. Haye on the other hand may well make the most out of Fury's singing and look to cause insult by ridiculing it.
I see the latest announcements on the possibility of this fight as just a way of building up the excitement for this fight and that it will indeed take place.
I really hope it does as it will be pure entertainment. Two British heavyweights going at it in search of a shot at a world title.
