Mexican star scores wearing only one football boot

Jesus Escoboza wasn’t about to be put off after losing his boot in the build-up to racing clear one-on-one against Mali at the under-20 World Cup on Friday night.

Wearing just one football boot, the Mexican forward slotted home his country’s third goal in a 4-1 rout of their African opponents in the group match.

The game was just as notable for the shocking mistake by Mali keeper Berthe in the first 80 seconds – the stopper hooked a clearance straight into the path of a Mexican foward, who tapped home.

The video here though shows Escoboza racing through before his boot pops off. Undeterred the nippy striker breaks clear, keeps his balance and dispatches the ball past Berthe with his boot-wearing foot.

Top work!
