Manchester United have been told they will have to wait a year if they want to sign summer target Kevin Strootman.

Old Trafford manager David Moyes has been credited with an interest in him but his club, PSV Eindhoven, have insisted he will not be leaving until next summer at the earliest.

Chelsea's continued failure to get a deal done for Napoli striker Edinson Cavani could see them lose out altogether, as PSG are hovering.

The Serie A side will not budge on their £54million valuation and Stamford Bridge moneymen have refused to meet, which could leave the door open to the big-spending Ligue 1 champions.

Arsenal have jumped into action for what is expected to be a busy summer of transfer activity.

After confirming the signing of France U20 striker Yaya Sanogo, reports emerged that they had been knocked back in a bid for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Lars Bender, as well as being close to signing both Gonzalo Higuain and Brazil goalkeeper Julio Cesar.

Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale has admitted he admires Spanish football over the other leagues and expressed a desire to play there one day.

Real Madrid have made their admiration of the Spurs talisman public and his latest comments will do little to dispel rumours he could be joining them this summer.

Manchester City have been given encouragement in their chase for Brazil striker Fred, as he admitted he was open to a transfer this summer.

However, his club Fluminense have said they are not interested in selling the 29-year-old, though there are reports he has a release clause in his contract of only €2million.

Barcelona have been told to get their act together if they want to sign PSG centre-back Thiago Silva.

His agent Paulo Tonietto claimed he had heard of Camp Nou interest in the Brazil captain, but urged them to act soon if they have any intention of making a move.
