The Chicago Bulls appear to have won the race for 32-year-old swingman Mike Dunleavy.

Dunleavy is available in free agency after two-years with the Milwaukee Bucks, and ESPN claims the 32-year-old has verbally agreed a two-year, $6 million contract in the windy city.

A contract can’t officially be signed until July 10th, when the league’s suspension on signings and trades is lifted, although verbal agreements – such as this one – can be made.

Whilst Dunleavy isn’t a big-name addition for the Bulls, ESPN reports that the Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks, LA Lakers and Minnesota Timberwolves were all chasing his signature.

The son of NBA legend and former LA Clippers head coach Mike Dunleavy Snr, Dunleavy Jnr was the third overall pick in the 2002 NBA draft, with Golden State Warriors selecting the former Duke star.

After five years with Golden State, he then moved to the Indiana Pacers for four-years, reaching the play-offs for the first time in his career whilst at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

He again reached the play-off following a move to the Bucks, and will be hoping to go even further than the first round after the move to Chicago.
