Barcelona secured another league title under new manager Tito Vilanova after securing a record haul of 100 points in La Liga.
However, their display in the semi-finals of the Champions League against Bayern Munich will have left a sour taste in the mouth.
Vilanova will most likely stick to Barcelona’s customary 4-3-3 formation next season.
Barcelona have began the transfer window by signing Brazilian sensational Neymar from Santos. The talented forward will provide Barcelona with goals, pace and skills, he is exactly what the Catalans require to assist four-time Ballon D’or Lionel Messi’s in front of goal.
David Villa seems to be on his way out of the club after falling down the pecking order with Spurs favourites to sign the Spanish international top scorer. However, Alexis Sanchez will remain at the club and will rival Pedro for a starting spot in the right side of attack alongside Neymar and Lionel Messi.
Midfield is Barcelona’s strongest area. Andres Iniesta, Xavi and Sergio Busquets are untouchable - Thiago seems to be on his way out to Manchester United.
Goalkeeper Victor Valdes has confirmed that he is to see out his contract at Barcelona, so, they will not be required to purchase a 'keeper for another season at-least.
At the heart of defence, Barcelona are hoping to secure the services of Brazilian captain Thiago Silva. The club officials flew out to Brazil for talks during the Confederations Cup. The PSG defender is a rock at the back with an eye for goal; the pairing of Pique and Silva at the back would be a force to be reckoned with.
Barcelona’s potential XI:
Goalkeeper: Victor Valdes
Right back: Dani Alves
Centre-back: Gerard Pique
Centre-back: Thiago Silva
Left back: Jordi Alba
Centre-midfielder: Sergio Busquets
Centre-midfielder: Andres Iniesta
Centre-forward: Lionel Messi
Subs: Pinto, Tello, Montoya, Bartra, Fabregas, Mascherano, Sanchez
